Draftback is a Chrome extension that lets you play back any Google Doc’s revision history (for docs you have editing privileges). The developer's byline is that it provides the "archaeology of good writing".
While essentially creating a movie file of a Doc's edit history, it also creates a summary of all the edits, by which users, and for how long they spent editing. It captures all of the edits unlike anything I've seen before.
For those of you with an Orwellian bent, use it to check if you suspect students may be plagiarizing by copying and pasting their content. On the same note, use this tool to assess student progress toward writing proficiencies.
